CHICORY POWDER

Chicory (Cichorium intybus) is a flowering plant in the dandelion family. Its seeds, roots, and dried, above-ground parts are used to make medicine.

Chicory is a rich source of beta-carotene.

Chicory roots are rich in beneficial phytochemicals, including inulin (starch-like polysaccharide), flavonoids, coumarins, tannins, alkaloids, volatile oils, and many more. Inulin makes up to 68% of the total compounds of the chicory roots. It is a polymer of fructose and dietary fiber.

Vinayak’s Ecoflav Chicory Powder is brown in color. It is Free-flowing Powder and Soluble in Water.

Due to the free-flowing ability of Vinayak’s Banana Powder, it can be easily applied in Dry Mix Beverages such as Instant Coffee or Filter Coffee.

Applications:

Chicory Powder is commonly used to make a coffee alternative, as it has a similar taste and color. It can also be added to instant coffee powder or ground coffee to create a blend of coffee and chicory flavor.

Chicory root is used in herbal medicine as it has a mild laxative effect, increases bile from the gallbladder, and decreases swelling.

Chicory is used for loss of appetite, upset stomach, constipation, liver and gallbladder disorders, cancer, and rapid heartbeat. It is also used as a “tonic,” to increase urine production, to protect the liver, and to balance the stimulant effect of coffee.
