PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate is derived from coconut oil fatty acids. PEG stands for ‘Polyethylene Glycol’ and the number next to it refers to its molecular weight. PEGs are a big family of synthetics and their use and properties will vary depending on their weight and composition.
As an emulsifier, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate attracts and hold together water and oil-based ingredients such as rose infusion or jojoba oil. Without emulsifiers, the formula would separate, causing oil droplets to float on top of the water.
