Respiratory diseases in pigs are classified in two broad categories based on the extent and duration of the disease. Acute or severe type diseases like Swine Fever, Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), Swine Influenza, etc., and chronic infections with poor clinical signs. The economic damage is more in infections with indefinite time, although the mortality is usually low. The losses come from adverse effect on growth rate, decreased feed efficiency and medication costs. Nevertheless, the economic stress can be avoided by proper management and prophylactic measures.
The category of diseases impacting for longer time comprise of common diseases like Mycoplasmal pneumonia and pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, Streptococcus sp., Actinobacillus sp., Bordetella bronchiseptica coupled with Pasteurella sp. are important cause of farm losses due to decrease in growth rate and feed conversion in young pigs. Respiratory conditions in pigs are frequently the result of multiple agents (mixed infections) and rarely due to single pathogen.
Bronchodilatory action of RELIEVO widens the congested air passage and allows a pig to breath normally during respiratory distress. The inflammatory discharge and fibrous exudates produced by damaged tissue in the lungs get expelled by the expectorant and anti-inflammatory actions of RELIEVO. Regenerating effects of phyto-molecules restore the healthy mucin layer slowly and strengthen the primary barrier of immune system. Phytogenic compounds of RELIEVO minimize the cough production in the lungs which also resolves the dyspnea and allows oxygen transfer through the alveolar wall. Additionally, the immunomodulatory and antimicrobial properties of herbs enhance immune response of pigs
- Naturally stimulates defense mechanism and functioning of respiratory system
- Works as decongestant, antitussive and expectorant
- Anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator in action
- Enhances healthy mucus secretion
- Improves oxygenation and reduces gasping
- Visible recovery within 5 days
