This tinged purple Mentha Citrata is a variety of Mentha Piperita. It belongs to Lamiaceae (Mint) family and has a citrus like strong fragrance, similar to that of Eau de Cologne.
The plant is a perennial herb that grows to up to 3 feet in height. Leaves are dark green and have a purple tinge. Yellow oil glands dot the whole plant. The complete flowering plant is used in processing essential oil.
Chemical Constituents :
Chemical constituents of the oil include linalool, linalyl acetate, caryophylene and gernanyl acetate. Other constituents of the oil include citronellol, 3-octyl acetate and a-terpineol.

Extraction Method :
